From 1999–2018, almost 450,000 people died from an overdose involving any opioid, including prescription and illicit opioids (CDC). Here at Hope Within Initiative, we are committed to combatting against this major crisis that has plagued generations on a global level by continuing work to identify outbreaks, collect data, respond to overdoses, and provide care to those in their communities. Our hope lies in our belief of establishing strong communal ties and instilling the necessary educational tools and resources that promotes awareness. With this awareness, we believe monumental change can take place as we work together equipped with effective mechanisms that drive exponential impact to overcoming opioid addiction.

HWI also offers our intensive program, The Health and Opioid Abuse Prevention Education (HOPE) that is designed to increase functional knowledge and attitudes while building the necessary skills to prevent drug abuse and partnering with relatable organizations. Our events, such as Parents360Rx, are workshops are designed to foster open communication between parents/guardian and their children.
